The Switchback Colors

Does It Really Work?

 Howdy!, all you fishing anglers of the world......I just got to share my experience with ya' regarding Alabama's native Tim Horton's new Bomber lure, the "Switchback Shad" & it's results! Get ready for some action....

Tim Horton's Switchback Shad;

This crankbait is made by "Bomber Lures" & has been designed by the "10 Time Bassmaster Classic Qualifier", Tim Horton.  These crankbaits can be switched by the flip of your wrist to make a rattling noise or to turn off to the silent mode. It has a ball bearing release & locking mode that can very easily be switched by the angler. The colors are fantastic & are based on Tim Hughes original featured colors but upgraded with Tim Horton's choice of colors.

I have been fishing with "Bomber Lures" for many years! One of my secret backup lures is the Bill Dance Excalibur Series for under pressure times in a tournament until now......I don't mind sharing my secret! There is plenty fish out there to go around! I always resort to the "Citrus Shad" & I have them in every depth possible.....My tackle boxes hold at least 20 of these different depth ranges & color. I also have them in my wife's tackle bag. Don't get me wrong!, I do use other colors too.....But the "Citrus Shad" has always been my main color until I discovered Tim's "Bama Shad", & it's results.

The "Bama Shad" review is awesome! I made a trip to Bass Pro Shops the other day & bought me one of these switchbacks to try out because all I have been using & fully stocked with are the Bill Dance Excalibur Series & Fat Free Shads made by Bomber. So, I get the "Bama Bass" which is a new color for me.....Within the 1st hour of casting in the Coosa River which is in Gadsden, Alabama, I land a 5 pound 2 ounce Spotted Bass & numerous strikes & hits from smallmouth, largemouth, & spotted bass. I just kept the rattle on for the incredible vibration it sends off to all the critters.......

On a scale of 1 to 10. This Bass Lure scores a 9 on my list! Every angler should have a switchback in their tackle box! I have not tried some of the other new colors such as the "Hot Bream" or "Foxy Phantom" yet! If anyone has used these colors, please let me know your results & opinions.....

Colors;

  • Foxy Shad
  • Citrus Shad
  • Sour Grape
  • Ghost Crawfish
  • Purple Darter
  • Red Crawfish
  • Roux
  • Switchback
  • Bama Shad-  NEW!  Excellent!
  • Tennessee Special- NEW! Bound to be HOT!
  • Hot Bream- NEW!
  • Foxy Phantom- NEW!

These all come in 1/2 ounce & 3/4 ounce size & can be chose to run medium or deep in the ranges from 4 to 8 feet, 8 to 14 feet, & 14 to 18 feet. So far, I have only used the 8 to 14 feet in this particular lure but my next trip to the Bass Pro Shops will be a trip of buying more colors & depths for this switchback model series......

Excellent performance, handling, & strikes from the Tim Horton's Switchback Shads! Thanks Bomber Lures for creating this awesome crankbait!

I welcome all comments, experiences, & thoughts regarding this crankbait & would love to hear your review!

Those look like something I want to throw in the brush. Bombers are good plugs.
